Make a difference by Volunteering

Being an all-volunteer organization, we depend on the kindness and generosity of our community. We always can use help with fostering and adoption coordinators.

Another way to help us is to volunteer at one of our adoption events in the Washington DC metro area.

    Adoption Coordinators

Our “ACs” are the face of K-9 Lifesavers. They are responsible for screening applications, preparing animals for adoption by coordinating which events dogs need to attend, supporting potential adopters, and supporting newly adopted dogs and families through their transition into their forever homes.

    Fosters

Our fosters provide love and support a dog needs in order to acclimate to life in a new home. Fosters are generally responsible for the cost of food and any dog walking expenses.

Fosters also play a critical role in the adoption process. Because they know the dogs well, they are in the best position to help decide what potential forever home is appropriate.
