As an all-volunteer organization, K-9 Lifesavers is entirely dependent on the generosity of the community.

We depend on generous, caring individuals to provide time and expertise. Your involvement is key to our ongoing success.

We can’t thank you enough for whatever support you can give.  So, consider yourself puppy-kissed!

Adoption Counselors

Our adoption counselors work to find the best possible homes for our dogs. Tasks include:

  • Interview potential adopters and coordinate home visits, landlord checks, and vet checks
  • Educate new pet owners on proper vetting, nutrition, socialization, and exercise
  • Educate new adopters on additional resources found on our website
  • Attend adoption events

Time commitment varies depending on the number of dogs you AC. An average size load is five dogs per AC. Each application takes about 30 minutes to one hour to interview, conduct the checks, and coordinate home visits.  Training is provided.

Fundraising & Marketing

If you have experience as a fundraiser or are experienced in marketing, we can use your help.

If you would like to organize a fundraising event, please let us know. Any and all ideas are welcome.

We also need help with:

  • Flier circulation announcing special events–posting them & keeping them current.
  • Social media marketers
  • Advertising in free publications
  • Blog Writers

Adoption Event Coordinators

Do you like planning and promoting events? Are you organized, have a “can do” attitude, and have about 6 hours per month?

Become an Adoption Event Coordinator. Represent K-9 Lifesavers and promotes our organization at neighborhood adoptions and community outreach events.

Adoption Events Handlers

Every weekend, K-9 Lifesavers holds adoption events for our adoptable dogs. We are always in need of volunteers at these events. As a handler, you will be assigned an available dog and talk to prospective adopters about them. We require dog handler volunteers to be ages 16 & up.

Grant Writers

Find grant opportunities for K-9 Lifesavers throughout the year.

Administrative Assistants

Update our pet portal information, update dog pictures, answer general emails, make follow-up calls, create blogs, follow-up on spay/neuter procedures, and filing.

Somewhere a shelter dog is awaiting a gentle touch, a kind word, a soft bed to sleep on. Won’t you help make this come true for them?
